I Love You to Death, 2005. Buildingscape 2: The Concrete Forest, an installation also featuring Alexander Stewart and Peter Miller at the ZhouB Center, Chicago, IL The Concrete Forest was an installation of site specific works including sculpture, sound, projections, and a hotdog stand, spread throughout the second floor of a warehouse in Bridgeport. I Love You to Death was installed in the center of the space; the clouds were filled with helium, released, and then allowed to fall as the helium escaped. During the fall, the clouds wandered, sinking and swelling until they finally deflated, resting on the ground. While their erratic behavior is both comical and playful, their eventual collapse suggests latent doubts regarding possession. |
